Amazing Sunsets on Occheuteal Beach

I enjoy each moment at the sea, but the ones I enjoy the most are the ones I spend at the end of the day. I love watching the sunset’s palette of colours and the majestic silhouettes to all those who wished to see the sunset while the sense of tranquility fills me. So, each time we have a trip to Sihanoukville, Cambodia we always go to Occheuteal Beach to watch its amazing sunsets.

Even though we did not spend time in the water on Occheuteal Beach, but the outstanding brilliance of the orange sun was just so perfect to enjoy the moment. Plus, the serenity of the moment was a balm to my soul.

Furthermore, I love the chilling factor on Occheuteal Beach especially when the dusk starts to fall – many people are coming to the beach, restaurants and bars are opening, drinking beer on the beach while watching the people enjoying the salty water, and enjoying watching people passing by while listening to the sound of waves. It is really very lively and fun there at night.

While we were in Sihanoukville, my family and I viewed a number of beach sunsets on Occheuteal Beach. The first sunset was we laid back on the chair and relaxed as we enjoyed Mother Nature’s beauty.

On another day, we watched the sun set on Occheuteal Beach after a day of beach time at Palm Beach Resort. Even though the sun was going down, people continued to enjoy the water.

On another evening, we watched the sun set while we played on the beach sand and swing. What a joy it was to see our son enjoying himself.

On a beach trip, watching the sunset is certainly one of the best moments for me, no matter from what beach I view the ocean.

Little Lilly travel tip:

1. Be mindful of your stuff because there are many people.
2. There are many hawkers selling all kind of stuff.
3. It is very busy during the weekends and during the holidays.

We love the beach – sun, sea, sand, and its calming effect on us! Just simply walk on the sand and watch the waves is already breathtaking and enjoyable. Plus, the amazing sunsets at the beach is just so perfect to savor the moment.

Last Christmas break, we took our son to the beaches in Cambodia. One of the beaches we had been to was the Queenco Palm Beach Resort located in Otres 1 in Sihanoukville.

The beach was nice, tidy, quiet, and lovely! The water was warm, the staff was friendly, the service was good, the view was great and the whole place was just so soothing. There were also lots of comfortable sun loungers and sunbeds. The food was delicious and there was lots of food on offer.

As soon as we entered the music of the waves welcomed us and, when we stepped on the beach, the slumbering sea in its blue robe greeted us with its buzzing dormant strength. As we lied-down on the sun loungers, we could hear the waves crawling gently to the shore. Later on that day, we took an amble on the beach, the sand that was floury underfoot and the feathery, sugar-white hue was just simply mesmerizing. When we looked around the secluded beach, we saw some tourists with Day-Glo tans and we didn’t see any chattering hawkers. It was just like we were being wrapped in a comforting plastic wrap of warm sounds and soft light.

Certainly, it was just another marvelous and relaxing day at the beach with my loves.

Cambodia: Tree Top Adventure at High Point Rope Park in Koh Rong Island

Just in time before year 2016 ended, I checked an item on my bucket list – to conquer my fear of heights! I felt really proud of myself for having completed the full course and survived it! Certainly, this is one amazing adventure I will never forget.

While we were on holidays on Koh Rong Island, I decided to try for the first time the challenges at High Point Rope Park. At first, I was nervous while being instructed on what to do as I’m scared of heights. But the staff was great and helped me throughout the course so I became less nervous and more confident while completing all the stations. Thanks to our good guide who made my first experience an exhilarating one.

It looks easy but it was a lot of hard work for me.

The full course has 21 unique stations that tested my balance and coordination – zip lines, suspension bridges, tightropes, flying surf, etc. It took us only an hour since we were only 3 in our group plus 2 guides. The course was impressive and I really enjoyed it. The obstacles were fun and challenging. At the top, before coming down the last zip line, there’s some picturesque views of the bay and the surrounding islands. While I was doing the challenges, I noticed that each level took me higher and higher in the tree tops in the jungle.

High Point Rope Park

It is safe – the ropes, carbines, helmets and all safety bindings are in great condition and are certified by the international association of climbers of UIAA. The instructor makes sure you are doing it really safely.

Basic safety rules:

• Always make sure that at least one safety carbines is attached to the red safety line at all times.
• Do not remove your protective helmet.

Little Lilly travel tip:

• It’s really better to go in a small group so you can hear what the guide says, you can go around the course quite fast and there will be no waiting for others to complete the course.
• Use insect repellent.
• Wear comfortable clothes and proper shoes like sneakers.
